1. Target layer

Select a target layer of a point/tree/centroid type.

  1. Source layer

Select a polygonal layer from the list of available source layers.

  1. Source attribute

Select a source attribute from the currently selected source layer.

  1. Target attribute

Select a target attribute from the currently selected target layer.

  1. Right arrow

Click the arrow to link the selected source and target attributes.

  1. Linked attributes

A list of the linked source and target attributes.

  1. Left arrow

If necessary cancel the link of the selected linked attributes.

  1. Clear all items

Optionally cancel all the links at once.

  1. OK

Click OK to store the settings.


       


Note:

Only the same type of source and target attributes can be selected for a successful linkage of attributes. During mapping of points/trees/centroids values from polygonal layers can be automatically transferred to a currently mapped point/tree/centroid (e.g., you want to store some information about soil type for each tree in your plot. Information about soil type is stored in a polygonal layer “Soil”). In the settings you can easily define which attributes from polygonal layers should be transferred to points/trees/centroids during mapping.

  1. New point/tree

Add a new point/tree into a point/tree layer. Of course you have to set the parameters like above.


       

  1. Target attribute

A predefined target attribute value is automatically inserted.

  1. The Soil_Type has been inserted automatically to the tree (new) record
