Layer connection generally means specifying name of the proper layer of the project and assigning attributes names of the project to the specified attributes that will enter the calculations.
Units
Some numerical attributes require to have units defined. To assign it, simply select the unit from the list on the right from attribute name. For diameters, there are cm and mm available to be used, on the other hand, height or length of deadwood should be in m or cm.

- Switch to Layer tab
- Select Trees tab
- Assign attributes to their meaning
- Some attributes used for statistical analysis are of lookup list type. In that case, assign them to respective fields and subsequently, select those lookup list entries which refer to specified condition.

- Switch to Regeneration tab
- Specify layer, which contains regeneration data, and assign attribute names in respect to attributes used for statistical analyses.
- Specify layer, which contains data about regeneration damage, and assign attribute names in respect to attributes used for statistical analyses.

- Switch to Deadwood tab
- Specify layer, which contains data about deadwood, and assign attribute names in respect to attributes used for statistical analyses.

- Switch to Subplots tab
- Specify the subplot layer, if any
