Prior to processing any calculation it is necessary to connect a project. Connecting a project means in fact telling Inventory Analyst where the source of data is. It includes:

• Setting basic parameters and describing main features (identifying navigation plot, defining plot area and total area, choosing output language, …)
• Defining layer connections (defining subplot, regeneration and deadwood layers, connecting tree layer attributes)
• Defining land category (defining forest land and forest stand land layer)
• Running calculations (e.g. calculating missing values, completing data in tables, creating virtual trees for regeneration, …)
