10.3 Adding a point by laser

Prompt for new ID

To check (and/or change) the ID of a newly added entity, tag the “Prompt for new IDs: map layers” option in settings.

After adding a new entity you will always receive a dialog box with the entity ID, which you can adjust or simply confirm.

Double click a point layer to make it active
Click the Laser button on the Map form (if not selected already)
Click the Add point button. Aim the reflector at the range pole held by your field assistant above the point you measure and send data to the computer

A new point becomes visible in the map

Note: While measuring by laser range finder, be sure that you have not moved from the position (see positioning), which corresponds to the position of the blue square symbol in the map.
