Input data priorities

Field-Map Data Collector handles data input devices in the following order:

1. Keyboard

2. Pen

3. Laser or GPS

This means that if the keyboard option or if both keyboard and pen options are enabled, then FM will expect data to be entered by keyboard.



If only the “Pen mapping” option is enabled Field-Map expects pen mapping, data from GPS or Laser.



If both keyboard and pen options are left untagged in Settings then only data from Laser of GPS are accepted.
  1. Tag the Input data from keyboard option in settings



  1. Double click the point layer to select it
  2. Make sure that the Laser mapping button is selected
  3. Click the Add point button



  1. Type the horizontal distance into Horizontal distance edit box
  2. Type the horizontal angle into Azimuth edit box
  3. Type vertical angle into Inclination input box

    a) change units of entered values

  1. Click OK



  1. A new point appears in the map
