13.5 Adding trees (continued)
|
As the range pole with the reflector cannot be placed directly on vertical tree axes, it should be placed in front of the tree at height of the diameter measurement (DBH). The position of the tree is later, when diameters are known, automatically shifted by the distance of half of the diameter. There are basically three options of diameter entering: 1. The diameters are downloaded from the calliper prior to measurement of the tree position 2. The diameters are downloaded from the calliper after the tree mapping 3. The diameters are edited interactively for each tree one-by-one manually or using the on-line radio calliper |
When measuring trees close to the border of the plot, and the tree diameter is not known yet, you may receive the following message:
The reflector on the range pole is inside the plot, but the tree may actually be outside the plot. In case the diameter is already known, the tree position is adjusted automatically. When the tree is outside the plot you will get the following message:
Both the reflector and the tree are outside the plot. |
