Grid parameters

In the Create grid dialog box you can choose a Grid offset and rotation.





Centered points/Shifted lines

If Centered points selected the origin of coordinates will be placed in the middle of polygon. On the other hand, if you select shifted lines, it will be located on the intersecting point of 4 squares.  
  1. Double click the polygon layer to make it active
  2. Click the Tools button



  1. Choose the Create grid menu item



  1. Enter the grid size into Grid size edit box
  2. Type the X and Y co-ordinates of grid origin into edit boxes Easting and Northing

Note: You can paste co-ordinates of your current position or co-ordinates of selected point using buttons Paste current position or Paste selected point

  1. Click OK



  1. A grid of rectangular polygons appears on the map
