Tree center adjustment

When you measure the position of a tree, you actually measure a point on the stem surface, not the center of the tree. Field-Map has a routine which corrects this shift. After downloading or entering DBH information Field-Map automatically recalculates the actual stem position by adding half of the diameter and moves the tree center points to their exact position. Wether you download the DBH from calliper or manually, Field-Map automatically refreshes the position of the trees depending on their DBH and the direction of the measurement.


Override old value (virtual keyboard)

If not active during number editing the new number is added to the end of the old value. If active the old value is deleted before the new number in entered.


               


Principle of refreshing the tree position based on DBH

Before editing any attributes you have to measure the position of the tree.

  1. Switch to the Trees form
  2. Select the tree to be measured
  3. Click into the “DBH” edit box



  1. The dialog box “Trees” appears
  2. Enter the breast height diameter into the “DBH”edit box
  3. Tag/untag the Override old value checkbox , if you have a virtual keyboard
  4. Click OK

Note:

You can also enter the perimeter into the “Perimeter” edit box. Field-Map automatically calculates the diameter from this.
