Establishing new plot without tree mapping


In some situations (e.g. during inventory  on temporary plots) it is not necessary to map the position of trees, but at the same time it is necessary to map sub-plot boundaries. In such a situation, this function will help you to create a tree layer with all functions, but it does not require mapping, only inserting records into the table. Mapping to other layers remains unrestricted.Mapping to other layers remains unrestricted.

  1. Switch to the Plots tab
  2. Click the New plot button


  1. A New plot dialog box appears
  2. Type ID in “ID” edit box
  3. Enter a plot name in the “Name” edit box
  4. Select shape and size of new polot
  5. Activate “No tree mapping (-> no mapping in the plot)
  6. Click OK to establish a new plot



9.   A dialog box Settings appears. Check the pole position for mapping option. Click OK



Note: You will be asked to fill magnetic declination value before approving creation of new circular plot. For explanation about settings see Settings


10.   A map of new plot appears

11.   The "Trees" layer on the map remains unavailable for mapping

12.   Select attribute page of the tree layer




13.   Manually (or by electronic calliper) add/delete new tree in the overview table
