Transforming map layers
Use this tool to convert co-ordinates from map projection to WGS84 and vice versa.
It is also possible to transpose X and Y coordinates or to change the number sign.
Supported file formats:
- Shapefiles (*.shp)
- Digital exchange format (*.dxf)
- MicroStation design file (*.dgn)
- Autocad drawing database (*.dwg)
- ArcInfo coverage (*.pat, *.aat)
- MapInfo format (*.mif/mid, *.tab)
- Tables (*.mdb, *.dbf, *.xls, *.db)
Choosing a table as an input file
If working with tables, it is necessary to prepare the destination columns in advance to enable saving the transformed co-ordinates., e.g.:

- Select the menu item Tools > Transform Map Layer.
A Transform map layer dialog window appears.

- Choose the map projection to/from which the map should be converted.
- Choose the input file.
- If converting a table, select the attributes that represents the longitude/latitude and the attributes that represents the Northing/Easting (X / Y respectively, depending the chosen direction of conversion )
- Choose the direction of conversion.
- Click the Convert co-ordinates button.
