Overlapping polygons

If polygons in a plot are overlapping, Field-Map calculates area of polygons separately in overlapping method. Every particular polygon can consist of one line.

This method can be used i.g. for area calculating of crown projects.

  1. Make sure that the polygon layer is active and it contains centroids and that exists line layer with polygon boundaries
  2. Click the Build polygons button

  1. Select Overlapping polygons method
  2. Select layer for polygonization
  3. Click OK

Note: Before polygonization appears a window with backup

  1. The Poly-shape window appears
  2. Adjust Maximum closing distance
  3. Click Create polygons button
  4. You can enhance appearance of the polygon using Smooth polygons option

         a. Fill in minimum spacing of line vertices

  1. Click Exit button and Close/Close and use result in Field-Map function

Note: If you select Close then polygonization process will be terminated, changed data during polygonization process will be not change on the map

  1. After Close and use result in Field-Map function you can get a confirm message, see more Single steps of non-overlapping polygonization

  1. Overlapping polygons are built and saved into the project
