Importing Lookup lists

Use this function to import an existing table as a lookup list. You can import lookup list tables data from any already existing Field-Map project or  external tables.


The table must be in FireBird (.fdb), MS Excel (.xls or .xlsx) or MS Access (.accdb) format. It is necessary that the table contains a field with an identification (either numeric ID or alphanumeric ID as a matching type of a lookup list) and a description field for each item (this field appears in Field-Map Data Collector lookup list menu). In the case of a conditional lookup lists, the table must contain also a field with a master ID.

  1. Add a new Lookup list type attribute.



  1. In the Select Lookup List dialog box click the Import lookup list button.



  1. Select the path to the source project which the lookup list will be imported from
  2. and then click the database file of the project (or a source file with the lookup list data to import).





  1. A new window Open Table appears, select the lookup list to import.
  2. Click OK.




  1. A Table preview appears.


  1. Select the field which will represent the lookup list ID fields.
  2. Select the field which will represent the lookup list Value fields.
  3. Click OK.



  1. Rename the lookup list.
  2. Click OK.



  1. The lookup list has been imported.
