8. Working with background maps
|
|
Together with map layers created within Field-Map for field data collection, a number of existing map layers can be used as background information. From within Field-Map Project Manager you may define the composition of digital maps (raster plus superimposed vector layers). This composition may be saved and later opened in Field-Map Data Collector to provide better orientation. Filename extension of the map composition file is “mmc“. Background map layers can be arranged into a map composition with similar features as for example ArcView map composition. Field-Map Data Collector support Enhanced Compression Wavelet (ECW) format and Web Map Service (WMS) as well. Note: Map composition files can be placed at one of these locations: a) in the directory where they were first created, b) directly in the MAPS directory (not in its sub-directory though), or c) in the directory specified in the Settings. |
