Transects are used to visualize vertical terrain profiles and vertical tree projections. 

For transects you need to measure a line passing through the plot and then measure all trees (position and crown parameters) in a defined buffer distance on both sides of the line. 

While displaying the data you may label trees, choose a side view, choose projection …

It is possible to export the view to a windows metafile format (wmf) or copy it to a clipboard for use in presentations.
