A map is the core of Field-Map Data Collector. All map layers of the project are visualized in the map.

The map form consists of:

Points and lines are created using co-ordinates, which can be transmitted from external devices. Polygons with full topology can be built from lines and centroids directly while in the field. 

Control buttons are grouped into two toolbars (horizontal and vertical). The function of the individual controls may differ according to the type of map layer you are working with (point, tree, line, …). These differences will be explained in chapters devoted to particular layer types.
